Andrea “Andy” Dadomo, died peacefully at the age of 90 in Torrington.  He was the widower of Ida (Sarri) Dadomo, who passed away in 2006.

Mr. Dadomo was born in London, England, on September 8, 1925.  He was the son of the late Lorenzo and Maria (Laghi) Dadomo and had been a resident of Torrington since 1951, and became a citizen in 1956.   During WWII, he was swept up by the Italian Army, escaped, and crossed the line to fight for the British Army.

He was a retired machinist with The Torrington Company, and proprietor of Andy’s Tavern on Washington Avenue in Torrington.  Mr. Dadomo was a member of the Veneta Society and the Torrington Elks Lodge #372 and was also an avid accordion player.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Dadomo of Fairfield, Andy Dadomo of Torrington, and three grandsons, Kyle (Sherri) Dadomo of New Hartford, Paul Dadomo and Joseph Dadomo both of Torrington.  Mr. Dadomo leaves a sister, Ines Mazzaschi of London, England, as well as several nieces and nephews in the US and in England.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 12:00 noon at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Relatives and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon.   Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery.
