Amelia G. (Malanca) Re

Amelia G. (Malanca) Re, 87, of Torrington, passed away on September 16, 2015 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Born in Torrington on September 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Arista (Graziani) Malanca.  She was the beloved wife of the late Lucian Re.

Amelia served as Vice President of Torrington Savings Bank until her retirement. A communicant of St. Peter Church, she was a member of St. Peter Holy Rosary Society. She will be remembered for being an avid baker and excellent cook.

Amelia is survived by her daughters Sandra Re Johnson and husband, Karl, of Harwinton, Lori Wood and her husband, Stephen, of Newtown, PA, and three grandchildren, Stephen, Caitlin and Samantha Wood as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT 06790 with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT 06790. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at Cook Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.
