Alfred L. Williams, Sr.

Alfred L. Williams, Sr., 89, of Torrington, CT, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Martha (Gibbons) Williams for 60 years.
Alfred was born March 25, 1925, in New Hampshire, son of the late Frederick and Mary Williams. He was employed by Hubbards Cab Company as a driver until his retirement. Throughout his life, he mentored many young people towards the straight path of life, and was known as the “Good Samaritan”.
In addition to his wife Martha, he is survived by three sons, Alfred L. Williams, Jr., Charles M. Williams both of Torrington, Ralph H. Williams of Ledyard of CT; one brother, Frederick Williams of Massachusetts and his family; 24 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Adrien Williams.
