Alexander Walter Jacobs, Sr.

Alexander “Walter” Jacobs Sr., 81, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Slinker) Jacobs for 58 years.
Mr. Jacobs was born December 26, 1933, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Giza) Jacobs. He served his country with the US Army, enlisting on March 17, 1953, and honorably discharged on January 22, 1955. He was employed by the US Postal Services as a Supervisor until his retirement.
In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by two sons, Alexander W. Jacobs, Jr. (Margaret) and Daniel Jacobs (Lori) both of Torrington; one daughter, Julia DeMichiel (Jeff) of New Hartford, CT; one sister, Marie Laigle of Rancho Mirage, CA; seven grandchildren, Molly Spino, Helen Jacobs, Tim DeMichiel, Lisa Albreada-Ponte, Sylvia DeMichiel, Daniel Jacobs, Jr. Krysta Jacobs; three great grandchildren, Aria Albreada-Ponte, Ryan Patrick, Emily Patrick, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Jacobs, Albin Jacobs and two sisters, Irene Scranton and Barbara Exner.
